The Future of Paid Search

For advertisers knowing a searchers “intent” is a game changer.

As part of the user research and user experience design team at Adchemy I was part of the creation of a solution to one of the biggest growth areas in paid search, deriving a searchers intent from a search query and matching that to automatically generated ads that can be targeted and published across all paid search advertisers..

Kitchen 2.0

Web enabled home appliances allow for magically innovative interaction possibilities.

Web enabled ceiling mounted projectors with built in cameras for gesture recognition allow for content to be projected anywhere in the kitchen, wireless communication to the web and to other appliances in the home allows users to experience a new depth of interaction and connectedness in their homes.

Control The Temperature With Light

A radical and intuitive way to visualize the temperature on induction hobs.

See coverage

With conventional gas hobs users receive feedback from the sight and sound of the flames which helps them regulate the temperature. This feedback is missing when using a modern induction hob my solution is to imbed LEDs that project light up onto the edges of a pot with the height of the ‘digital flame’ mimicking the height of a conventional gas flame for any given temperature.

Cooker Hood Designs.

With these designs my aim was to evolve Miele’s design language while in keeping with the established iconography of the brand. My corresponding aim was they should use the least amount of materials to produce and energy to operate.

Sustainable Kitchen Living

IRIS is an interactive touch screen appliance for the kitchen. It is designed to foster family interaction based on what they eat. The huge environmental impact associated with what we eat motivated concepts to help make consumers more aware of the environmental impact of they food they consume. The UI encourages smarter more sustainable choices and does this through the engaging interactive user interface.

The project won a kitchen of the future competition sponsored by Miele in 2011.
